- click 'submit' button
- enter 'Immigration Voice' in the client name
- click 'submit' button
Now you see the amount spent by IV for lobbying in the Senate documents. Please do the total and let me know how much is that amount. I am not "highly skilled" like you, so I can't calculate?
Do you know anyone who spent 1/2 million on lobbying for our issues. Maybe your friends have spent that money.

Its good to see this thread is still active. I just came home after 30 hrs non-stop work due to our product launch. I did go through quickly on all the posts after my post and I really didnt get the point I was looking for. I will respond to each of you tomorrow in one post.
The response I see for any type of campaign in the form of contributions is pathetic, based on the number of people waiting and those who are active. We will go nowhere, but this must change, and we will help.
I will now have to sleep for 5 hrs and then go back.

My situation is not any better. I am working for a GA based company since 2001 got stuck in the backlog center with Priority Date Oct 2003 (labor apporved in Nov 2006 I-140 applied in May). After calling the company HR for 30-40 times in last one week I was able to talk to HR guy, he said the ceo will allow only those who have approved I-140 to apply for I-485. He also said then once priority date retogressed again I will be able to get 3 years H1B ext. that will be good for me.:mad: I think these desi blood sucking compnies will be obsolete in couple of years. If USCIS make the rules better.
I was thinking of disclosing my employers name but then I will never be able to file I-485

100% correct. I guess its human. If you did not file for 485 in Jul 07, people want to file when PD is not current. For people who filed and are waiting, want the backlog cleared. People who have GC are "worried" about getting citizenship :). People who just came in, are worried about they PERM/140 approvals.

Don't confuse between taking legal risk with doing something illegal. You must be an idiot to think they are the same.
Poeple that sold $500K home to those who make $40K were not doing anything illegal. What they were doing was irresponsible. It is the guy that was making $40K, but lied on his application that he was making $80K that is the criminal.
And your assumption is that we are complaining about unethical behavior because we are in the US and we think that everyone in the US is ethical? How stupid are you? Sorry to burst your bubble, but we do not think so. I, and many like me, think we should do the right thing no matter where we are, here, India, or elsewhere.
I can't help but laugh at all these taking moral high ground. They talk like this even after looking at what is happening in so called highly ethical american corporates.
There are rules and people smart enough and daring enough go ahead and push it/bend it as much as possible to achive what interests them most.
As of April 2009, the person who asked the original question and the consultant who asked the question assumed they should be able to land a contract job once October rolls around.
It is a common practice, without going into how it is unfair for the numerous others who have job offers in hand.
Now what would you say to the people who sold houses worth 500,000$ to the people who are making 40K per annum or so? The people who took the risk bear the reward or repercussions.
The person who took a risk by applying for H1 without a client offer, and the consultant would have been rewarded financially if they were able to land a job.
Now that they can't, they have this potential of being illegal stay/out of status or whatever that they have to deal with.
So I suppose, if we can help him with answers to the questions he is seeking and provide any guidance that will help him deal with the results of his decision , as many are doing on thread, that is great. If not, don't have get so preachy/flamey.

My wife and i got emails from USCIS and we checked our status online and it is now CPO. The approval is based on my wife's applicatiion ( EB2 India, Dec 2005). I had two applications one as her dependent and another my own that is EB3 I, Jan 2004.

I think taking second/third opinion is going to help and as far as your wife Immigiration case .. I think some members mentioned about talking to Attorney .. You can also drop a email to Sheila Mutrhy and Rajive Khanna. I am sure they will come out and help...

I emailed CIS Ombudsman. Not sure if its going to cause any affect.
