My application was mailed on June 25th to TSC and picked up by TSC IO on June 28th . The new weekly processing update states processing/receipting completed till june 28th. But they still haven't cashed my check or issued any receipt ? When I called the 800 number to ask them regarding my application they first told me to wait for 15 days ,then 45 days and now 90 days. Whats the point of issuing weekly update if USCIS itself is not following it,it is creating more anxiety then doing any good.
I am wondering what if they misplaced/lost my application, will they accept resubmitting a new I485 petition after Aug17th based on Fedex signature conformation receipt signed by an IO, of previously filed petition??:confused:

Sorry if I am posting on wrong thread. I am in the process of sending my documents for EAD renewal and had few questions
Do we need to include a cover letter ?
Also I am sending the following documents.
1) copy I-485 receipt notice
2) copy of EAD (front and back)
3) two color photos
4) Filing fee check $340
5) Mailer stub received from previous EAD.
Am I missing anything else?

I think we all understand we are in this together. No doubt.
A single post from CORE IV can make a huge difference to herd the cattle (including myself) here. For Instance, AILA letter asking for H1B and EB relief today.
I had posted a modified version of their letter in our forum in which I had deleted asking for raise in H1 and retained only EB part. IF IV core thinks
this is a good (or a bad ) idea and suggests what to do, our members will be energized.
For my part, I have added my personal story, added the EB relief part of AILA letter and emailed two senators and one congressman in my state.
Also, the same letters signed are ready in an envelope to be snail mailed.
So, IV core, from time to time, when there is a campaign by AILA and other organizations which could help us, please suggest how you would like us to proceed.I am not trying to create more work for you, but as a member, I think it would benefit all of us.

Your idea is good and I would encourage you to go ahead and send such letters to lawmakers. Any effort that is in line with IV's agenda and helps us in any way will be helpful to all of us. IV endorsed efforts are listed in action alerts page. If you choose to go and meet the lawmakers we have put together all information for this purpose

Might have something to do with completely incorrect coment you left regarding 1 yr validity of h1 and all.. it's so not true that probably angered a few members with low BS tolerence

for example: If there is H1 to H4 conversion on 11/01/07. Last used date of H1 is 11/01/07 and H1 will expire on 11/01/08 since it is unused for an year.
Another example: If H1 is approved on 10/01/07 and not used till 11/01/08. H1 will expire on 11/01/08 since it is unused for an year.

I'm in very similar situation. My dates were available for June as well. My HR/Attorneys did this long and painful bureaucratic process. We have an internal website which says that my case was �filed� on Jun-29th. Don�t know what the fuck that means. Whether it was sent on 29th or received on 29th? Couldn�t get HR to answer.Don�t have direct communication lines with Attorneys... If it�s sent on 29th, does USCIS take packages on Saturday or Sunday? If they take only on Monday, will they throw it out because it reached in July? Oh well, just have to wait and see...

Your other option was to pack bags and leave the country if the employer did not give you the letter. And you can argue that the law lets you change employer after 180 days and hence you are not breaking the law. You can also argue that if the employer had not acted in bad faith by refusing to give you employment letter, you would have continued to work for the employer.
Ofcourse, you will need a very good lawyer if you want to fight the case on moral grounds (because it may be more expensive to fight the case than just pay the amount agreed to in the letter).

After having been following most of the EB3 related threads looks like EB3 folks are on their own. I also think green card lottery, chain immigration, and refugee green cards should be eliminated and those visa numbers should be used for employment based immigrants because all these people can immigrate just like us through employment. We contribute more to the American society and should be given priority. I guess when we become American someday, we would like immigrants who contribute to our community too. Isn't that right? :)

I called senator's offices. One senator's voice mail box is full. I will call them again Monday. Another senator's office directed me to their Atlanta office. Here they handle individual cases only. So the staffer said their is no point in my driving there and meeting them in person. But the staffer gave me his direct e-mail id and asked me to mail him the issues, views, suggestions etc. He assured me that he would forward it to DC office and would make certain that someone calls me from the DC office and hears my views.
I am going to send him detailed mail tonight. Any suggestions? I will keep following up with another senator too.
